Using XP Pro sp2.

With past Windows I could set a password on the windows screen saver easily.
With XP there is a box that I can tick to action the password, but no
obvious way to enter a password to use.

I don't use a log-in password..... so what's the trick????

XP Pro screensaver password is your Windows User log-in password. XP Pro was
aimed at the business market where users have log-in passwords....

As Gordon told you, the screensaver password is your Windows login
password. Create a login password and you'll have the option to "require
password when resuming" on the Display>Screen Saver tab.

1. Click Start - Control Panel - User Accounts
2. Click on your User Name.
3. Click Create a Password

Make sure that in Display Properties - Screen Saver tab - "On Resume,
Display Welcome Screen" option is checked.

Hope this help, let us know!
